Right now in Austin it’s cars. I’ve seen cars run red lights the past three days. One guy even ran two in row, no fucks given. What the hell is wrong with people?

I honestly don’t care much about cyclists running red lights because they’re endangering themselves more than anybody, but I’d hate to be the guy calling 911 to get some jerk scraped off the pavement.

I really wish I knew, but there's a lot wrong with people in general. I guess entitlement bothers me, not to mention it could cause accidents when people have to avoid the self important cyclist

Still though, a cyclist running a red light and hitting someone, with potential damages etc, can still waste peoples time.

I followed a cyclist for two blocks just so I could tell him the stop signs are for him too.

Look man, I ride bikes. A lot; 7000 miles/400 hours per year of mostly road riding. I maintain a simple rule: don’t fucking hit anything. The same goes for driving a car. On to stop signs, I run them about the same frequency as I stop for them. It depends on the situation. Am I the first to the intersection? Are there cars coming in either direction? How well can I see cross traffic? Is it a 4 way stop sign? How fast am I going or how quickly can I stop? There’s a lot of variables to consider, but on a bike I’m generally traveling between 15-25 mph, my field of vision is unobstructed, and my ears are listening. I have time to make a decision and to ensure my safety across the intersection. If a car has the right of way, I give it to them. If they don’t, I take it and power through the intersection. It may bother you that it looked like I made a risky move and disobeyed the laws. It may bother you that a bike slowed you down for 15 seconds. I’m sorry that we’ve inconvenienced you, but I’m virtually incapable of not riding my pedally toys. There are obviously varying degrees of shitty cyclists the same way there are shitty drivers. Please give us space, we’re aware of you and we’d prefer that the infrastructure was better so that we’d have less of an impact on your driving experience. But we love being outside and we love being fit, bicycles will not go away in your lifetime.

A couple other things... I drive a Focus ST and love cars. Instead of doing track days, I race my bike regionally as an amateur elite level cyclist. I am the engine and suspension of my bike. Riding bikes is the shit and you should try it.
